The Raiders originated in Oakland, California, founded in 1960 as a charter member of the American Football League (AFL) and later joining the NFL in 1970. They began in Oakland, moved briefly to Los Angeles from 1982 to 1994, returned to Oakland in 1995, and eventually relocated to Las Vegas in 2020.
