The Pikachu promo tied to the Pokémon TCG’s 30th anniversary isn’t in a random booster-it’s specifically included in the 30th Celebration Classic Collection Pack , a special product released later in the anniversary rollout.
What the promo is
The promo in question is a Pikachu ex card that comes as a bonus when you buy the Classic Collection Pack , which is part of the wider 30th Celebration line. This Pikachu ex is separate from the 30 different holo Pikachu illustrations that appear guaranteed in every regular 30th Celebration booster pack.
Why it’s easy to mix up
Every standard 30th Celebration booster pack already contains one of 30 unique holo Pikachu cards, so it’s natural to assume “the Pikachu promo” lives there. But collectors using “promo” in this context usually mean the additional Pikachu ex that’s only available through the Classic Collection Pack, not the guaranteed holo in regular packs.
Release timing
The main 30th Celebration set launched worldwide on September 16, 2026 , with booster packs and core products hitting stores then. The Classic Collection Pack-and therefore the Pikachu ex promo-arrived later, with an expected street date in November 2026 according to early product schedules.
If you’re hunting specifically for the promo Pikachu ex, look for listings or store shelves calling out the 30th Celebration Classic Collection Pack rather than standard booster boxes or Elite Trainer Boxes.
