Africa is the only continent that lies in all four hemispheres: Northern, Southern, Eastern, and Western.
Why Africa Is In All Four
The Equator crosses Africa, so part of the continent is in the Northern Hemisphere and part in the Southern Hemisphere. The Prime Meridian also passes through Africa, placing land on both the Eastern and Western Hemispheres.
Related Geography Fact
Because both the Equator and Prime Meridian cross it, Africa is the only continent with land on both of these lines. No other continent is intersected by both lines in this way, so none of the others occupy all four hemispheres.
