As of the 2025 NFL season, eight NFL teams do not have cheerleaders on the sidelines.
Teams without cheerleaders
The NFL teams that do not field official cheerleading squads are:
- Buffalo Bills
- Chicago Bears
- Cleveland Browns
- Green Bay Packers (use local college cheerleaders occasionally, but no official team squad)
- Los Angeles Chargers
- New York Giants (have never had an official cheerleading squad)
- New York Jets
- Pittsburgh Steelers
These franchises instead rely on other forms of game-day entertainment, and in some cases historical, financial, philosophical, or climate-related reasons are cited for not maintaining cheerleading squads.
