The longest river of Peninsular India is the Godavari River. It has a length of approximately 1,465 kilometers and flows eastwards from the Western Ghats in Maharashtra to the Bay of Bengal. It is also known as "Dakshin Ganga" or the "Ganges of the South" and is the second-longest river in India after the Ganga.
