These states include Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming. However, some of these states like California, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee have moratoriums (halts) in place on executions, meaning they do not currently carry out executions though the death penalty remains legal.
