Rite Aid sold the majority of its pharmacy assets in a bankruptcy court- approved deal to multiple buyers, with CVS Health being the largest purchaser. CVS acquired the prescription files of 625 Rite Aid pharmacy locations across 15 states and agreed to buy 64 physical Rite Aid stores in Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. Additionally, Walgreens and grocery chains such as Albertsons, Kroger, and Giant Eagle also bought pharmacy assets from over 1,000 Rite Aid locations nationwide.
