who created spawn

Spawn was created by Todd McFarlane. He conceived the character as a teenager while working on Spider-Man-related art and brought Spawn to life as a new, creator-owned property in the early 1990s through Image Comics. The character made his official debut in Spawn #1 in 1992 and quickly became a flagship title for Image Comics, helping to establish the publisher’s creator-owned model.
