Tay-K, whose real name is Taymor Travon McIntyre, shot and killed Mark Anthony Saldivar, a 23-year-old photographer, during a robbery outside a Chick-fil-A in San Antonio, Texas, on April 23, 2017. McIntyre and his associates had lured Saldivar into a vehicle under the pretense of a photoshoot, but during the ride, they held him at gunpoint, robbed him of his camera equipment, and ultimately McIntyre shot him following a physical altercation
. McIntyre was convicted of murder for this shooting in April 2025 and sentenced to 80 years in prison. He was acquitted of capital murder, which would have meant life without parole, but faces a sentence ranging from five to 99 years or life with the possibility of parole
. This killing occurred while Tay-K was on the run after cutting off his ankle monitor, fleeing charges related to a separate 2016 home invasion and murder of 21-year-old Ethan Walker, for which he is already serving a 55-year prison term
