who invented ranch dressing

Ranch dressing was invented by Steve Henson in the early 1950s. Henson, originally a plumbing contractor from Nebraska, created the dressing while working in Alaska. After retiring, he and his wife moved to California, where he served the dressing at his Hidden Valley Ranch guest ranch, making it popular among guests. The dressing gained national attention and commercial success after they started selling packaged dry mix and later bottled versions of the dressing.
