The Lambeau Leap was invented by LeRoy Butler, a Green Bay Packers safety. He first performed the celebration on December 26, 1993, after scoring a touchdown from a fumble recovery in a game against the Los Angeles Raiders. Butler spontaneously leaped into the stands to celebrate with fans behind the end zone, creating the tradition that became known as the Lambeau Leap. The celebration was later popularized by Packers wide receiver Robert Brooks, who made it his signature move after scoring touchdowns at Lambeau Field.
