The Ballon d'Or was not awarded in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. There has been consideration by France Football to award the 2020 Ballon d'Or to Robert Lewandowski retrospectively, but this has not been officially done yet.
To clarify, the official winner for the year 2020 does not exist as no award was given that year. The 2024 winner was Rodri, and the 2025 competition is currently ongoing with no official winner announced yet.
