Journalism, who finished second in the 2025 Kentucky Derby, is the favorite to win the Preakness. Sandman, the Arkansas Derby winner, is the closest competitor in the odds at 4-1. Three horses in the Preakness also ran in the Kentucky Derby: Journalism, American Promise, and Sandman. The Kentucky Derby winner Sovereignty is not running in the Preakness this year
