The President of the United States, who as of 2025 is Donald Trump, is recognized as the president for the territory. The head of the local government in the U.S. Virgin Islands is the Governor, who as of 2025 is Albert Bryan Jr.
Separately, the British Virgin Islands, a different territory, have a head of government known as the Premier. The current Premier of the British Virgin Islands is Natalio Wheatley, serving since May 2022.
