The sports drink called BodyArmor was created in 2011 by Mike Repole and his business partner Lance Collins. They aimed to make a healthier, nutrient-dense sports drink using natural ingredients like coconut water, vitamins, and natural sweeteners, avoiding artificial colors and preservatives. The brand quickly grew popular, especially after gaining celebrity endorsement and investment from Kobe Bryant. In 2018, The Coca-Cola Company purchased a minority stake in BodyArmor and fully acquired the company by 2021, aiming to position it as a premium sports drink in the market.
