Epic: The Musical was created by Jorge Rivera-Herrans. He wrote and produced the entire nine-part series of album musicals based on Homer's Odyssey. Rivera-Herrans developed the project starting in 2019 as his senior thesis at the University of Notre Dame, and it gained popularity through social media, especially TikTok. He is also the founder of Winion Entertainment, which manages the musical's releases and merchandise.
