who made the tea app

The Tea app was created by Sean Cook. He founded the app out of a personal mission to provide women with tools to date safely after witnessing his mother's negative experiences with online dating. Sean Cook self-funded the app and used his background in product development to build it. The app focuses on women’s safety in dating by offering features such as background checks, reverse image search for catfishing, and a women-only community space verified through AI.
