CBS is owned by Paramount Global, which is a large media conglomerate. Paramount Global was formed by the merger of ViacomCBS and rebranded to its current name in 2022. CBS is a flagship property within Paramount Global's CBS Entertainment Group division. In 2025, Skydance Media acquired Paramount, leading to changes in ownership structure, but CBS remains under the control of this combined entity, now referred to as Paramount Skydance Corporation. The controlling entity behind Paramount Global and therefore CBS has historically been National Amusements, a company controlled by the Redstone family, which holds significant voting power over the media assets including CBS and Viacom.
