Etihad Airways is 100% owned by the government of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Since October 2022, the ownership and management of Etihad Airways have been under ADQ, a sovereign wealth fund controlled by the Abu Dhabi government. ADQ manages Etihad as part of its portfolio, positioning it within Abu Dhabi’s aviation and logistics cluster for strategic growth and integration with other transport assets. Before this transfer, Etihad was directly owned by the Abu Dhabi government since its founding in 2003. It remains a state-owned airline with no private ownership as of 2025.
