Fitbit is currently owned by Google. The acquisition was announced in November 2019 and was completed in January 2021, with Fitbit becoming part of Google's hardware division under the parent company Alphabet Inc. Since the acquisition, Fitbit continues to focus on health and fitness solutions, although in 2024 Google announced the discontinuation of Fitbit smartwatches to concentrate on its Pixel Watch line, while maintaining the Fitbit brand for trackers and apps.
