Little Saint James (often called “Epstein Island”) is now owned by billionaire investor Stephen Deckoff, through his firm SD Investments.
Current owner
Stephen Deckoff, founder of Black Diamond Capital Management, purchased Little Saint James and the neighboring Great Saint James from Jeffrey Epstein’s estate in 2023 for about 60 million dollars. Public reports describe the purchase as a direct acquisition of both islands via his investment vehicle SD Investments, making Deckoff the current private owner.
What is planned for the island
Deckoff has announced plans to redevelop Little Saint James and Great Saint James into a high‑end, roughly 25‑room luxury resort. Reporting indicates he has promoted the project as a “world‑class destination” aimed at bringing economic benefits to the U.S. Virgin Islands while attempting to move the islands’ public image beyond their association with Jeffrey Epstein.
