The Buffalo Bills are owned by Terry Pegula, along with a minority coalition of private equity investors.
Primary owner
Terry Pegula is the controlling owner of the Buffalo Bills and purchased the team in 2014 after the death of founding owner Ralph Wilson. He is a billionaire businessman whose wealth comes largely from natural gas and other energy-related ventures.
Ownership structure
Pegula remains the majority and controlling owner, while a group of private equity firms and other investors holds a minority stake in the franchise, approved by the NFL in 2024. Within the Pegula family, a minority stake has also been assigned to his daughter Laura Pegula as part of recent ownership adjustments.
