The Denver Broncos are owned by the Walton-Penner family ownership group. This group includes Rob Walton, his daughter Carrie Walton-Penner, and her husband Greg Penner, among others. Rob Walton, a Walmart heir, played a key role in the purchase which was valued at $4.65 billion—the largest amount ever paid for a sports franchise globally. Greg Penner serves as the CEO and controlling owner, handling the day-to-day operations of the team. Other notable members of the ownership group include Mellody Hobson, Condoleezza Rice, and Lewis Hamilton. The Walton-Penner group took over ownership in 2022 after Pat Bowlen’s family trust held the team for several years following Bowlen's death in 2019.
