The man who shot 50 Cent nine times in May 2000 was Daryl "Hommo" Baum. Hommo was a notorious gangster from Brooklyn who later became Mike Tyson's bodyguard and friend. It is believed that Kenneth "Supreme" McGriff, leader of the "Supreme Team," ordered the shooting as retaliation because 50 Cent's music, especially the track "Ghetto Quran," exposed crimes committed by the Supreme Team. Hommo was hired to carry out the attack but was killed himself about three weeks later in a targeted shooting
