The true identity of Gossip Girl, the anonymous blogger who chronicled the scandalous lives of Manhattan's Upper East Side elite in the TV series Gossip Girl , is revealed in the series finale to be Dan Humphrey. Dan, an outsider and aspiring writer, created the Gossip Girl persona to insert himself into the exclusive world of the wealthy teens he observed, using the blog to share gossip and secrets he gathered. Although other characters like Georgina Sparks and Serena van der Woodsen briefly took over the blog at times, Dan was the original and main Gossip Girl throughout the series.
