The first person to walk on the Moon was Neil Armstrong. He achieved this historic feat on July 20–21, 1969, during NASA’s Apollo 11 mission, stepping onto the lunar surface at 02:56 UTC on July 21, 1969, and famously saying, "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." Buzz Aldrin joined him a few minutes later, making them the first two humans to walk on the Moon.
