The Rams were originally founded as the Cleveland Rams in 1936. They started as a franchise in Cleveland, Ohio, playing in the American Football League in their inaugural season before joining the NFL the next year. The team played in Cleveland until 1945 and won the NFL Championship in 1945. Then in 1946, the franchise moved to Los Angeles, marking their transformation into the Los Angeles Rams. The move was led by owner Dan Reeves, who had acquired the team in 1941. So before becoming the Los Angeles Rams, the team was known as the Cleveland Rams from 1936 to 1945.
