Winston Groom wrote the novel Forrest Gump. The book was published in 1986 and later adapted into the famous 1994 film directed by Robert Zemeckis, starring Tom Hanks. Groom is the primary credited author of the original work, and he also published a sequel, Gump & Co., in 1995.
