Scholars note differences in writing style and language between Revelation and the Gospel of John, suggesting they may have different authors. Nonetheless, the traditional and predominant view attributes Revelation to John the Apostle, with the book recording visions and messages revealed to him by Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit while on Patmos.
