why did people jump out of the twin towers

People jumped or fell from the Twin Towers on 9/11 primarily to escape the unbearable conditions inside the towers caused by the fires, smoke, and extreme heat after the airplanes crashed into them. Those trapped in the upper floors faced intense flames and smoke inhalation, with temperatures reportedly exceeding 2,000 °F (1,090 °C) in some places. Many chose to jump as a last resort to avoid being burned alive or suffocated. Officials describe these deaths as caused not by intentional suicide but by people being forced out by the dire conditions inside the burning buildings. Estimates suggest around 200 people fell or jumped from the towers, mostly from the North Tower where escape routes above the impact site were cut off, leaving jumping as the only possible means of escape from the inferno.
