We need to separate different components of a mixture because some components may be harmful, non-useful, or spoil the useful part of the mixture. Separating allows us to obtain pure substances for use and remove unwanted or harmful substances. Two examples are:
- Tea leaves are separated from liquid tea using a strainer to avoid drinking the leaves, which are not useful to consume.
- Stones or pebbles are removed from wheat, rice, or pulses by handpicking to avoid eating harmful stones mixed with food grains.
These separations ensure the substances we use are in pure and safe form.
