why does my blood pressure go up and down

Nature

Blood pressure naturally goes up and down throughout the day due to several factors. This includes the body's natural daily rhythm (circadian rhythm), stress and emotions, food and drink intake (like caffeine and alcohol), physical activity, and medication timing. Temporary rises in blood pressure can also occur due to anxiety, especially in medical settings (called white- coat syndrome). Underlying health issues (such as adrenal problems, kidney disease, or sleep apnea) and some medications can also cause fluctuations. These variations are normal to some extent, but consistent or large fluctuations may warrant medical attention to rule out health problems.
