The U.S. flag is at half-mast today as a mark of respect for the victims of the senseless acts of violence that occurred on August 27, 2025, at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis, Minnesota. President Donald Trump ordered all U.S. flags to be flown at half-staff from August 27 through August 31, 2025, to honor those victims, including two children who were killed and several others injured in the mass shooting incident. This period of mourning includes federal buildings, military posts, and U.S. embassies nationwide.
Additionally, in Louisiana, flags are also at half-staff today to commemorate Hurricane Katrina Remembrance Day.
