Pakistan is not in the G20 primarily because the G20 membership is based on the largest and most influential economies in the world, and Pakistan currently ranks 24th in the world's economies, just outside the top 20 that the group represents. The G20 includes countries that together represent around 85% of the global population and economy, focusing mainly on economic power rather than military strength or nuclear capability. Pakistan has been criticized for its economic, political, and social challenges, which limit its ability to compete for global forums like the G20. Additionally, geopolitical factors and foreign policy issues, including strained relations with India and other countries, contribute to Pakistan's exclusion from the group. While Pakistan holds significant strategic and population weight, it has not met the economic and diplomatic criteria to be included among the G20 nations so far. Pakistan aims to join the G20 by 2030 through economic growth and reform efforts.
