The "You too" fallacy, also known as the tu quoque fallacy, occurs when someone responds to criticism or an accusation by deflecting it back at the accuser instead of addressing the original issue. It implies that because the accuser is guilty of the same or similar wrongdoing, their argument is invalid. For example:
- Person A: "You shouldn't lie."
- Person B: "But you lie too!"
This fallacy distracts from the original point and does not provide a valid defense.
