When you want to overtake a truck, you must NOT do the following:
- Overtake where it is prohibited by road signs or markings (such as solid white lines or no-overtaking zones).
- Exceed the speed limit while overtaking.
- Overtake on the inside (undertaking), unless specifically permitted by law.
- Overtake if there is not enough clear road ahead to safely complete the maneuver, such as on bends, hills, or where visibility of oncoming traffic is obscured.
- Cut in too soon in front of the truck after overtaking; you should only pull back in when you can see both headlights of the truck in your rear-view mirror.
- Fail to check your blind spots and mirrors before overtaking.
In summary, you must avoid unsafe, illegal, or rushed overtaking maneuvers that put you or other road users at risk.
