To disable Simple Edit in Fortnite, you just need to change one setting in the in‑game menu.
Steps to turn it off
- Open Fortnite and go to the main lobby screen.
- Click the gear icon to open Settings.
- Go to the Game tab (the one with the cog icon, usually the 2nd or 3rd tab depending on your platform).
- Scroll down to the Editing or Building section until you see “Simple Edit” (sometimes labeled “Use Simple Edit”).
- Toggle “Simple Edit” from ON to OFF, and also turn off “Tap to Simple Edit” if that option is under it.
- Apply/Save the changes, then back out of the menu.
After this, your edits will work the classic way again, where you manually select tiles instead of the game auto‑choosing them.
