The Chosen was primarily filmed at three main locations:
- Capernaum Studios near Fort Worth, Texas: Most of Seasons 1 and 2 were filmed at this small studio in the community of Poolville, Weatherford, Texas. The studio specializes in faith-based, historical sets and offers indoor and outdoor sets to portray an accurate first-century Middle East environment.
- The Goshen Movie Set in Goshen, Utah: Starting in Season 2, filming also took place at this detailed, 3-acre set that replicates ancient Jerusalem. It includes features resembling the Judean Plains, Jordan River, Garden of Gethsemane, and other significant biblical locations.
- Camp Hoblitzelle in Midlothian, Texas: From Season 3 onwards, the production expanded to this 1,200-acre Salvation Army camp property, where an intricate biblical village set and large soundstage were constructed. This has become the permanent home for filming.
These locations provide diverse and authentic backdrops that successfully recreate the biblical world of Jesus' time for the series.
