Rogaine is a hair regrowth treatment that contains minoxidil as its active ingredient. Minoxidil has been available on the market for hair loss for more than three decades. It is believed to work by partially enlarging hair follicles and elongating the growth phase of hair, resulting in more hair coverage on the scalp. Rogaine is FDA approved to help with male and female pattern baldness. The inactive ingredients in Rogaine include butane, butylated hydroxytoluene, cetyl alcohol, citric acid, glycerin, isobutane, lactic acid, polysorbate 60, propane, purified water, SD alcohol 40-B, and stearyl alcohol. These ingredients are used to make the compound more deliverable, as it’s a food-grade emulsifier, and to ensure it can be stored safely for a period of time and applied safely and effectively. It is important to note that Rogaine works only for certain types of baldness and only if you keep up with its application. It may not work for everyone, and it’s possible for results to peak after several months before declining.
