Ange Postecoglou is a Greek-born Australian soccer manager and former player, currently the head coach of Premier League club Nottingham Forest as of September 2025. He has had a distinguished career both as a player and a manager. Born on August 27, 1965, in Athens, Greece, he moved to Melbourne at a young age and played as a defender mainly for South Melbourne Hellas, as well as representing Australia internationally. As a manager, Postecoglou has an impressive record. He started coaching South Melbourne Hellas, winning the National Soccer League twice and the OFC Champions League. He later managed Brisbane Roar and Melbourne Victory in the A-League, winning league titles and championships. He was the head coach of the Australian national team from 2013 to 2017, leading them to victory in the 2015 AFC Asian Cup and participation in the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Postecoglou also had success internationally, winning the J1 League in Japan with Yokohama F. Marinos in 2019, and achieving five trophies including two league titles with Celtic in Scotland. He became head coach of Tottenham Hotspur in 2023, winning the UEFA Europa League in 2025, which was Tottenham's first trophy since 2008 and their first European trophy since 1984. However, he was dismissed shortly after due to a poor domestic league performance by the club. In September 2025, he took over as manager of Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.
