Cats can eat moths safely in most cases. Moths, like many other common insects, are generally not toxic to cats and can be consumed without adverse effects. However, eating large amounts of moths might cause mild digestive issues such as vomiting or diarrhea. There are some exceptions: certain moth species like the Garden Tiger Moth and its caterpillar can be toxic or irritating to cats, so it is best to avoid letting cats eat those. Its instincts to hunt and chase moving insects like moths often drive cats to consume them, and this behavior usually poses no serious health risks. Still, caution should be taken to prevent ingestion of moths that might have been exposed to insecticides or toxic substances.
