David Sinclair is a Harvard scientist who has been involved in cutting-edge research in the anti-aging field for several decades. He has written a book on aging, Lifespan: Why We Age – And Why We Don’t Have To, and has mentioned some supplements he takes for health and longevity. Based on multiple interviews and his book, Dr. Sinclair’s supplement and longevity drug stack likely includes:
- Nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN): 1g per day, in the morning
- Resveratrol: 1g per day, in the morning
- Metformin: 800 mg, in the evening
- Vitamin D3: ideally 4,000 to 5,000 IU per day
- Vitamin K2: ideally 180 to 360 micrograms per day
- Statin
- Low-dose aspirin: 83 mg per day
- Alpha lipoic acid (ALA): recent status unknown
Dr. Sinclair also follows a 20:4 fasting schedule where he tries not to eat until dinner and then has a “really enjoyable, big dinner”. He drinks a lot of water throughout the day, which helps reduce his feeling of hunger, and when he absolutely needs to snack on something he reaches for a small handful of nuts. He also recommends eating less meat, which suppresses mTOR, and following a nutrient-dense diet that includes adequate amounts of macronutrients to fuel the body for life.
Dr. Sinclair has a financial stake in his claims being proven correct and has lent his scientific prowess to commercializing possible life extension products such as molecules known as “NAD boosters” . However, published scientific research has not yet demonstrated the molecule works in humans as it does in mice.
