Duromine is a medication used to reduce body weight in obese or overweight patients. It contains the active ingredient phentermine, which is an appetite suppressant. Duromine is indicated as a short-term adjunct in a medically monitored comprehensive regimen of weight reduction based on exercise, diet (caloric restriction), and behavior modification in obese patients with a body mass index (BMI) of 30kg/m² or greater who have not achieved an adequate clinical response to an appropriate weight-reducing regimen alone.
Positive effects:
- Duromine can help reduce body weight in obese or overweight patients when used as part of a comprehensive weight loss program.
- It can help suppress appetite, thereby limiting how many calories you eat.
Negative effects:
- Duromine should not be used in pregnant women due to inadequate evidence of safety in human pregnancy.
- It should not be used in men or women for loss of weight for cosmetic reasons.
- Duromine may cause side effects such as heart palpitations, raised blood pressure, a feeling of restlessness, headaches, dry mouth, diarrhea, constipation, hives, and a higher or lower libido.
