Elvis Presley died on August 16, 1977, at the age of 42 due to a heart attack caused by cardiac arrhythmia. The autopsy report attributed his death to hypertensive heart disease and coronary artery disease. Although several prescription drugs were found in his system, drugs were ruled out as the direct cause of death. Prior to his death, Elvis suffered from several health issues including hypertension, diabetes, liver problems, and severe constipation. He was found unconscious on the bathroom floor of his Graceland home by his fiancée and was pronounced dead at the hospital shortly after.
