The AP Biology exam is 3 hours long in total. It consists of two main sections:
- Multiple-choice section: 60 questions to be completed in 90 minutes (1 hour 30 minutes).
- Free-response section: 6 questions (2 long and 4 short) to be completed in 90 minutes (1 hour 30 minutes).
There is also typically a 10-minute break between the two sections, making the total time including the break about 3 hours and 15 minutes
