On average, a person loses between 50 and 100 hairs per day. This is a natural part of the hairs renewal cycle, which includes a growth stage (anagen) and a rest stage (telogen) before the hair falls out. Each hair follicle goes through this cycle for as long as the hair follicle remains active and continues to produce new hairs. Excessive hair shedding thats outside of these normal patterns is always a cause for concern.
