The number of active-duty Navy SEALs is estimated to be around 2,400 to 2,900 as of 2025. Specifically, there are approximately 2,900 active-duty Navy SEALs assigned to the Naval Special Warfare Command (NSW), along with around 200 SEALs in Reserve or Selected Reserve status. The broader Naval Special Warfare community has about 10,000 personnel including SEALs, Special Warfare Combatant-Craft Crewmen (SWCC), support staff, reservists, and civilians.
