Robbie Coltrane was 6 feet 1 inch (1.85 meters) tall. Despite playing the character Hagrid, who is much taller in the Harry Potter series, Coltrane himself was not as tall, and the filmmakers used various tricks to make Hagrid appear much larger on screen.
