To assign weapon groups in Starfield, follow these steps:
- Talk to a Ship Services Technician to open the ship building menu.
- Select the Flight Check option, usually located in the bottom right corner of the menu. On PC, you can press the C key; on Xbox, press the Start button.
- In the Flight Check menu, go to the Weapons tab at the top right.
- Here, you'll see your ship's weapons. Assign them into groups by placing each weapon type into the available weapon grouping slots.
- Remember, only weapons of the same type can be grouped together. For example, autocannons, missile launchers, railguns, and lasers each need to be assigned to different groups. You cannot mix different types in one group or have multiple instances of the same weapon type.
Successful assignment will remove any "Unassigned Weapon" error and show a "Nominal" status in the Flight Check menu. This system allows quick switching between weapon groups for better combat strategy in space battles.
