To clean a derma roller, follow these steps:
- Rinse the derma roller under warm water for 2-3 seconds to remove any superficial debris, like dead skin or blood.
- Disinfect the roller head with 70% isopropyl alcohol by pouring some rubbing alcohol into a clean glass and submerging the derma rollers head in the glass for 3-5 minutes.
- Rinse the roller head thoroughly with warm water and use a soft toothbrush to remove any leftover residue.
- Dry the roller head thoroughly with a clean towel or let it air dry on a clean paper towel for 10-20 minutes.
- Disinfect the roller head again by letting it soak in 70% isopropyl alcohol for 10 minutes.
- Store the derma roller in its plastic case until your next use.
It is important to avoid using soapy water or warm water to clean the derma roller, as they are not effective cleaning methods. Additionally, avoid using sterilizing machines, chloroxylenol, denture tablets, Dettol, bleach, or boiling the derma roller, as they can damage the microneedles.
